Remembering
John Medica

(1958-2017)

John K. Medica (MBA ’83), an internationally recognized technology executive and Wake Forest University Trustee, passed away on Oct. 13, 2017, in Reston, Va. He was 59.

Mr. Medica was admired for his wry sense of humor and gift for creative problem-solving, both of which he deployed in the boardroom and behind the scenes supporting the Wake Forest debate team.

John and his wife, Megan (MA ’83), an active college debate team member, were avid supporters of the Wake Forest debate team.

“They have quite literally changed the lives of our students,” said Director of Debate and Associate Professor Jarrod Atchison (’01, MA ’03).

At the request of the Medica family, Wake Forest has created the John Medica Fund for Wake Forest debate. Lend your support here »
